Memorial Day weekend.

I want to remember all of my comrades that have fallen for our freedom and to thank all my friends that are serving or have served.

Each Memorial Day we try to do something as a family to remember what it means to be an American.  So this year, I wanted to participate in a 5K for a Lieutenant Berschinski.  A Peachtree City Goergia soldier who was convalescing at Walter Reed Army Medical Center after he was seriously injured in Afghanistan in Aug 2009. Dan Berschinski, a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, lost both his legs in an explosion when he stepped on an improvised explosive device while his unit secured a village in the Arghandab River Valley of Kandahar Province.  This morning I completed the 3.1 course in 27:00 minutes.

Here are the girls watching the finish line.

I am the chick in the black shirt.

Come on mommy!  Starting to sprint the last tenth of a mile.

I am about cross the finish line.  My time is 27 minutes.

The girls were so excited and I was glad to be done for the day.

Random family photos.

The last couple of days we have really enjoyed eating dinner outside with the girls.  The have actually been eating wiht less fussing.  Here is Alison hanging out with her Daddy while the chicken was grillin'.

Just a picture of our dinner table.  Note: we have quite a few alcoholic beverages because we are experimenting with which wine Rusty needs to perfect.  I have to say I am leaning towards a nice Cabernet.

Kiki, the cat, has now has lived with us for 4 months.  And in those 4 months, her and Mandy has become buddies.  This is how they sleep at night.

During the day,  Kiki roams are land and loves her freedom.  But at precisely 9 pm, she is jumping in the bed and calling it a day.

Here are the girls sitting on a rock in one of Rusty's flower beds.

Rusty and Alison getting ready to feed the birds.

Rusty decided to teach the girls about war faces.  Here are Ashley and Alison's war face.  Not so scary!

Rusty's birthday

I know these pictures are a little late, since Rusty's birthday is May 14th.  But better late than never.

You have to remember since Rusty is barely home, we enjoy all of our birthdays with a homemade cake and each other.

Mom Day 2010

Rusty and the girls really pulled out all the stops this Mother's Day.  They went to Publix and decorated me a cake.
Then they went around the yard and garden and made me the most beautiful bouquet and fragrant flowers.

Here are the final arrangements.
I would rather they spend time together than money.  Thanks again, I really felt special.

We are under contract.

I just got the official word that we are under contract with our new home in Virginia.  Here are the current pictures.  Please be patient, I will put my southern touch on it as soon as possible.

The reason we need to live seclusion.

It is a nice 64 degree morning in Georgia, so of course after breakfast the whole day crew: Ashley, Alison, Kiki, Mandy and myself retired to the veranda (or front porch) for fresh air.  Obviously we dressed in proper attire, pajamas from the night before, and grabbed some intelligent reading materials, coloring books and markers and we are enjoying our morning of peace.

Ashley wanted everyone to know that her picture is showing the ants crawling all around.

Return from Virginia

We had a successful trip to Virginia.  Here is hopefully our new house.  Since it was a whirlwind of a mini-vacation to see grandma and buy a house, the girls needed a way to unwind.  Ashley found some of my makeup and they just had a blast.

I thought it was so cute; but their Daddy was taken back a little.  I think he was flashforwarding in his head and it scared him.
