Kiki the barn cat

Since the weather dropped to unseasonably colder temperatures, the baby chicks have set up residence in our guest bathroom.  And believe me our friends and family are not the only ones who have noticed that the chickens are in there.

Kiki would not make a good barn cat.

Up with the chickens....

I am not sure that the chickens are exciting as they first were.  This morning was the first school day that the girls had to get up 15 minutes earlier to take care of the chickens.  As you can tell they look like any farmer in the morning before coffee.
This morning "the keeper of the peepers" (Alison) and "chicken mama" (Ashley) did not think they were soooo cute.

Here they are cleaning the water container and refilling the food for the day.

Just in time for Easter - the chicks have arrived!!!
I am not talking about the girls, I am talking about the girls' new responsibility.  6 baby chicks joined the Sears' Farm today.
Ashley likes them; but knows they are a lot of work. Alison likes them as well and will not leave their side, she has even sung them lullabies.

 Feeding time.

Welcoming the new chicks to the barn.
