Camping with the family.

Only in the last couple of years has the word camping actually meant just camping.  In our world, it use to me an FTX (field training exercise) or a deployment (YUCK)!  So when the girls suggested we roast marshmallows and have smores and sleep outside, Rusty was game.  I on the other hand, just had the close encounter with the snake; mommy was not so excited.  But after a couple of adult beverages, my fears dwindled and we had a blast, everyone except Mandy (the dog).

The girls and Daddy setting up our campsite.

Here are the girls playing in our tent.

This is the local boy scout getting our fire ready.

There is Mandy.  Did you expect to see her sitting on the ground, she has no idea she is a dog.

  1. I am just thrilled that you went camping. We have great memories with our kiddos and even from my family growing up. So smart to start in the backyard. Thanks for sharing so many of your family events.
